SLS MAVMM Ayira Vaisyar College was founded in the year 1991. This college is located at kallampatti village near Alagar Kovil around 20 km away from Madurai. The college is functioning under the efficient management of Madurai Ayira Vaisyar Manjaputhar Mahajana Saba located at 17, keela Marat Street, Madurai since 13.10. 1997, This Saba dedicated itself to the field of Higher Education and towards the development of Education. SLS MAVMM Ayira Vaisyar College was started as a self finance college through the G. O MS. 469/Edn. dated 1991 by the government of Tamil Nadu. It was affiliated to Madurai Kamaraj University .This is a Co-Educational College.

The M.A.V.M.M. Sabai comprises of people belong to Ayira Vysiyar Manjaputhur Chettiar Community, who are jewelers’ by profession. We realized the importance of education especially technical education for the younger generation of this region, registered this M.A.V.M.M. SABAI as a charitable institution under the Tamilnadu Societies Registration.
The tower in the emblem represents our temple city Madurai. The Cleanliness, Salutation and Prayer must be followed even in the house of Intelligence. The balancing machine signifies the equality among us. The Lotus represents the blooming heart .It also signifies the Ray of knowledge which makes the students heart bloom like a lotus.
